Research
Power electronics is the enabling technology behind renewable energy, green hydrogen, electric mobility, smart industries, and modern power systems. My research focuses on developing intelligent, efficient, and reliable energy conversion technologies that accelerate the transition toward a sustainable and decarbonized energy future.
Over more than three decades, my work has integrated fundamental research, industrial innovation, and technology commercialization across IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, Danfoss Drives, Everfuel, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, and Vestas Wind Systems. This combination of academic and industrial experience has enabled me to contribute to research that advances scientific knowledge while addressing real-world engineering challenges.
My long-term vision is to advance sustainable power electronics technologies that enable resilient, intelligent, and carbon-neutral energy systems. By integrating advanced converter technologies, renewable energy integration, artificial intelligence, digital engineering, and industry–academia collaboration, I aim to develop practical solutions that support the global transition toward clean energy while strengthening scientific research and technology innovation.
Modern society depends on efficient conversion and management of electrical energy. As renewable generation, electrified transportation, hydrogen production, and digital industries continue to expand, power electronic systems must become increasingly efficient, reliable, intelligent, and secure.
My research addresses these challenges through the development of advanced power converter topologies, electric drive systems, grid-forming technologies, green hydrogen power supplies, AI-enabled diagnostics, condition monitoring, and digital engineering methodologies. The objective is not only to improve component performance but also to develop integrated energy conversion systems that can be translated into deployable industrial technologies.
