Biography
Biography
Over the past three decades, my professional journey has been driven by a single objective: transforming advanced power electronics research into technologies that enable a more sustainable and energy-efficient world.
My career bridges academia and industry, combining research developed at IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi with international R&D leadership across Danfoss Drives, Everfuel, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, and Vestas Wind Systems. Throughout this journey, I have worked on technologies spanning electric drives, renewable energy integration, green hydrogen, offshore wind power conversion, AI-enabled diagnostics, and industrial electrification.
Beyond research, I am passionate about mentoring researchers, strengthening industry–academia collaboration, and developing engineering solutions that create measurable scientific, industrial, and societal impact. Today, my work continues to focus on advancing sustainable power electronics that support the global transition toward reliable, intelligent, and carbon-neutral energy systems.
Every stage of my career has contributed to a broader understanding of how engineering research can create real-world impact.
My academic foundation at IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi established expertise in power electronics, electric drives, and advanced control systems. These early years shaped my research philosophy and introduced me to solving complex engineering problems through analytical thinking and experimentation.
At Danfoss Drives, I expanded this foundation into industrial innovation by developing advanced motor drive technologies, intelligent diagnostics, condition monitoring systems, and commercial power electronic products. This experience demonstrated how rigorous research can evolve into globally deployed industrial technologies.
My work at Everfuel extended these capabilities into Green Hydrogen, contributing to large-scale hydrogen production infrastructure and sustainable energy systems. At Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, I focused on megawatt-scale offshore wind converters and grid-forming technologies for renewable energy integration. Today, at Vestas Wind Systems, my work centers on converter safety, advanced sensing technologies, and the reliability of offshore wind energy systems.
Across these diverse environments, one principle has remained constant: combining scientific research with practical engineering to accelerate the global energy transition

Modern society depends on efficient and intelligent energy conversion. Renewable energy, electric mobility, hydrogen production, and industrial electrification all rely on advanced power electronics to improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
My research is motivated by the challenge of developing technologies that bridge scientific innovation and industrial implementation. Whether designing advanced converter control strategies, improving motor drive performance, integrating renewable energy systems, or developing AI-enabled diagnostics, my objective is to create solutions that contribute to cleaner, more resilient, and more sustainable energy infrastructures.
One defining characteristic of my career has been the continuous integration of academic research with industrial innovation.
Working across universities, multinational companies, and international professional organizations has provided opportunities to translate research into patents, commercial products, engineering standards, and educational initiatives. This interaction has strengthened both research quality and industrial relevance while creating lasting collaborations between universities and industry.
Today, these collaborations continue through teaching, research supervision, international partnerships, and IEEE professional activities.
Research is most valuable when it contributes to people.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to mentoring young researchers, supporting faculty development, promoting international collaboration, contributing to engineering education, and serving the global power electronics community through editorial leadership, keynote lectures, tutorials, and IEEE activities.
These experiences continue to shape my perspective that innovation succeeds when scientific excellence, industrial relevance, and collaborative leadership work together.
The future of sustainable energy requires interdisciplinary collaboration across power electronics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy systems, advanced manufacturing, and digital engineering.
My ongoing work aims to contribute to this future by developing technologies that improve renewable energy integration, enable large-scale green hydrogen production, advance intelligent converter systems, and support industrial decarbonization through internationally collaborative research and innovation.
